Resistance 2

Photobucket

Difficulty: Resistance 2's single player trophies can finished within two play throughs and approximately 16 hours of play time making it a fairly easy platinum set. However, the multi-player trophies, while not difficult are VERY time consuming.

Are You Serious?: First of all, this game's multi-player trophy set is absolutely absurd. There is one trophy...let me repeat ONE...trophy that will take you minimally 65 hours, and that is if you are an amazing gamer. This particular trophy requires you to achieve 10,000 online kills in ranked matches. Personally, after about 15 hours of playing the game I would consistently place in the top 3 spots when matches were completed. Taking this into account it took me 70 hours to achieve this trophy.

Time: I do not recommend even attempting this platinum trophy if you are a "trophy hunter" as you can probably accumulate 4-5 platinum trophies in the time it will take you to complete Resistance 2. Look to spend a minimum of 120 hours, if you are a solid gamer, to complete this platinum trophy. To be fair, the multi-player is fairly entertaining so it is not a complete chore but still, did it need to be 10,000 kills? A serious time sink.

Tips: In co-op multi-player, once you aquire the perk which allows you to use the pulse cannon this will give you the opportunity to "steal" boss kills. From what I noticed if you score the last hit on a boss you will get that kill and the extra experience, which generally runs in the thousands. If you time it correctly you can use your pulse cannon to get that last kill and the extra experience to level your character faster. In deathmatch multi-player modes, the ripper allows for easy and fast kills in small area maps. Keep a lookout for ammo packs which supply you with extra granades (which is good for quick and multiple kills) or secondary ammo.

Dead Space

Photobucket

Difficulty: Even on hard mode, there is not anything particularly difficult about Dead Space. The trophy set is pretty straight forward and there are no curve balls, so to speak. Overall, I would rate it as an "easy" platinum.

Convenience: You will have to play through the game approximately two and a half times. I clocked in 22 hours on this platinum and would guess that it could take anywhere from 18-27 hours.

General Tips: On your first play through I would aim to complete the "One Gun" (beat the game using only plasma cutter) gold trophy. Prioritize spending all your credits to fully upgrade the plasma cutter and your suit's health. Once this is accomplished the game should be fairly easy even with the one gun handicap. It also helps that a fully upgraded plasma cutter is a very strong gun.

After you beat the game, load your saved data and start a new game with all the progress you have made on your upgrades. At about the half way point through your second game you should have the trophies for all the "upgrade" achievements. If you wish for things to go faster you can also use cheats that will supply with you credits and it will not void your trophy completion. Once your "upgrade" achievements are done, you can start hard difficulty and achieve any other trophies that you did not complete on the normal mode.

On hard mode do not try to conserve ammo by curb stomping or physically attacking as it puts you in danger to receive a hefty amount of damage. Instead, focus on your accuracy and diversify your gun usage to conserve ammo for other weapons. Considering I had 23 health packs preceding the last boss battle, hard mode should not be too difficult.

Terminator Salvation

Photobucket

Interesting: Terminator Salvation has a peculiar set up for its trophy "distribution". Generally, big release games are given a set of 30 or more trophies, while smaller downloadable games, are given somewhere between 10-20 trophies. Terminator Salvation was only given 12 trophies, including the platinum. What is even more interesting is that, minus the platinum, the rest of the trophies are all gold. Nine of the trophies are "completing a level" achievement and the other 2 are "completing a difficulty" achievement.

FAST: If you want a quick platinum trophy, and I mean QUICK, this is your game. I finished this platinum in 6 hours flat. You can expect to spend around the same time, give or take 30 minutes. The only thing you need to do is set the difficulty to hard so you can get it on one play through.

ps...This game was pretty bad. Probably the worst game I have played this year, but it was a quick platinum trophy.
