Bionic Commando

Difficultly: Bionic Commando's trophy set is fairly straight forward. On the whole it is an average game in terms of difficulty. One exception being the trophy that requires you to complete the game on "commando" mode (the game's hardest difficulty setting), which is an above average trophy to acquire.

Convenience: Technically, this game CAN be platinumed in one playthrough because you can choose commando mode from the get go, complete all the challenges, and collect all the collectibles on one save file. However, and that is a big however, this feat is extremely difficult and will become overwhelmingly frustrating if you are not a talented gamer. The reason being is that the game does not save ANY challenges or collectibles you have acquired until it reaches a check point, and check points range from far to very far apart. Therefore, if you die before reaching a checkpoint you will have to redo all challenges and collectibles you previously completed and picked up.

Time: Besides finishing the game on one go, there are two other options. The first approach is the two playthrough method. With this option you should use one playthrough to complete all challenges and collectibles on normal difficulty and the second playthrough to complete the game on commando difficulty. The second approach is the three playthrough method. One time for challenges, the second time for collectibles, and the third time for commando mode. I chose the three playthrough option and I hit platinum in 18 hours. Depending on which option you take, this game can take anywhere from 10-23 hours to platinum.

Tips: One of the most difficult situations you will face in the game are snipers on commando mode. The secret to dodging their fire is to keep your swings short and fast and to never float. If you find your self floating during one of your swings quickly find something to latch so that you change positions swiftly. As long as you are moving and changing positions quickly the snipers will not lock on.
